| Rating: 5 Swords The Whispering House: Book 1 Kit Wylde Freya's Bower 16 pp. Paranormal/Contemporary http://www.freyasbower.com/content/view/241/86/ 5 Swords Financial adviser Eleanor upended her life eight months after losing her mother. The loss of both parents in a two-year period convinced her to make other major changes, so she retired, sold the family home, and moved to an isolated home in Fresno, where she found herself finally relaxing and enjoying the solitude and even the mists and fog. But spying a figure across the creek, and then hearing a calming voice in her bedroom, have her spooked. As Eleanor realises how isolated she actually is, the mysteries around her and within her nature also deepen. Kit Wylde pens a richly satisfying short tale of the paranormal which has the reader thirsting for more. Well-characterized and with vivid realistic settings which make the reader feel part of the ongoing story, The Whispering House Book 1 is well worth the read.
