| By the time I finished reading Murdering in Numbers, I truly felt like I’d been turned inside out, upside down, and poured out. This is a most twisted, convoluted, exciting, scorchingly sensual, provocative novella. Destiny Blaine is fast earning a reputation as a writer whose mind is very, very twisted and dark indeed and I can assure the reader that Murdering in Numbers will not be forgotten very soon. You’ll be looking over your shoulder and maybe even sleeping with the lights on. Definitely you’ll be watching carefully any new intimate partners. Roxanne and Becky are very best friends; they share almost everything. Growing up together, they were as tight as twins and they share a reputation for trouble-seeking and trouble-making, for promiscuity almost to the point of nymphomania. Put succinctly, Roxanne and Becky thirst for male companionship, exhibitionism, and wild, passionate sex. Everything seems fine and everybody enjoys themselves, including the quantity of men they go through, until one night a Halloween bash goes awry. Before the party’s over, three men are dead and it’s obvious at least two of those have been murdered; Becky’s disappeared, and Roxanne is targeted by the sister of one of the victims. For the reader who thinks this will be a tried-and-true pat plot line, think again; you’ve seen nothing yet. An emotional and sensuous roller-coaster ride is in store for you, and as soon as you’ve turned the last page, you’ll turn back to the beginning to start this volcanic ride all over again. |
