Welcome to Hollywood semi-stardom and to L. A., the city that takes and takes and seldom gives. So discovers Sebastion Knight, arriving in L. A. intending to take
Movieland by storm, and instead discovering that in L. A., it’s not whom you know but whom you do that counts. He’s barely arrived and determined on buying a mansion
with a garden when he finds himself out of the running. Then his former Nashville landlord,Gay Asian Qui Qui arrives on Sebastion’s front lawn after a horrendous cross-
country trip in the back of a moving van.

Qui Qui’s appearance serves a double purpose: Sebastion now has to learn to handle a roommate-and he meets up with Cassandra’s brother-in-law, Officer Conor O’
Keeffe. What purports to begin as a humorous domestic comedy farce quickly subsumes into greed, overwork, ugly blackmail, and terroristic threats as alliances shift and
masks fall to reveal the shallow evil held within.

The twists and turns in this short story will have readers feeling the stomach-lurching race of a roller coaster, and the volcanic sensuality will send them running to the
nearest icy shower—or available partner. J. L. Foster outdoes himself again.
