I’ve read J. M. Snyder’s stories for probably more than a year and a half. J. M. is one of those authors on my Must-Read-Everything! List and I’m never disappointed.
However, I found Crushed different. To my mind, this is a darker and more disturbing story. Perhaps it is the addition of Roger, the boyfriend of one of the two
protagonists.

It’s years past high school, even past college, but Nathan and Wes have never forgotten each other. One evening’s quick tryst in Wes’ pickup at the Prom left a wonderful
memory, and the longing of thoughts of “what might have been.” But the boys went their separate ways: Wes grew from geeky to gorgeous; Nathan went from long-haired
high school basketball star to young career man, out of the closet-Gay,  and bored with colleagues and friends trying to find him “THE” man.

A chance encounter at best friend Tom’s party throws Wes and Nathan together again, and footloose Nathan is ready to rock. He doesn’t know, though, that Wes is in a
relationship: eight months with an abusive alcoholic addict whose behaviour strongly hints of emotional disorders. Wes is torn between love, lust, and guilt, and this makes
for a powerful story line.
