Six hundred plus years ago Beltane meant a serious and devoted celebration honoring the God and Goddess, and a lively experience for all the farm folk and townspeople
pairing off to commemorate Nature’s fertility. For Devon, chosen this year of 1384 to portray and embody the God during the ritual, the night brings both excitement and
anxiety. Strongly in touch with his own flesh, Devon’s only concern is the skyclad nature of the event, although both participants embodying the God and the Goddess will
be masked.

Devon’s the target of blacksmith Daigh, a man who won’t accept a turn-down and vows to have Devon no matter what, despite Devon’s disinterest. Devon is the sinecure of
many male eyes each Beltane, but on this night, a stranger appears and catches his eye. Tonight will hold glorifying lovemaking, but also terrible grief and pain for Devon
and his new lover.

Logan Whyte has excellently built on the mysteries of the Pagan ritual of Beltane and the Phoenix legend in this lovely story of enduring love and romance, rage of
rejection, violence, and the God and Goddess themselves. Readers will be looking for an ice mountain to put out the flames of sensuality awakened by Ashes to Ashes, and
longing for a love this gratifying as well.
